GREENVASS and BRC Packaging Certification: A milestone in food safety and quality

Ensuring product safety and quality is essential in the food packaging sector. The internationally recognised BRC Packaging Standard sets the highest standards of food safety and good manufacturing practice for food contact packaging.
Recently, GREENVASS, a company specialising in plastic injection moulding and thermoforming for food packaging, reached an important milestone in its history: achieving BRC Packaging certification with the highest grade (A) in its first audit. This achievement not only reflects the company’s commitment to quality and safety, but also positions it as a benchmark in its sector.

What is BRC packaging certification?

The BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials was developed by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) to ensure that packaging materials used in the food industry meet stringent safety, hygiene and quality requirements. This certification is recognised worldwide and is a key reference for packaging manufacturers seeking access to demanding markets.
Some of the key aspects of the standard include
– Food Safety and Quality Management: Implementation of rigorous management systems to prevent contamination risks in packaging.
– Production process control: Standardised procedures to ensure consistency, safety and quality of manufactured products.
– Hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Strict protocols to minimise any microbiological, chemical or physical contamination.
– Traceability: The ability to trace the origin and destination of materials used in the manufacture of packaging.
– Management commitment and food safety culture: Active involvement of top management in the implementation and continuous improvement of good practice.
BRC Packaging certification is not only a requirement for many companies in the food sector, but also provides a competitive advantage by demonstrating compliance with the highest international standards.

GREENVASS commitment to quality and safety

Since its inception, GREENVASS has been committed to innovation and excellence in the manufacture of packaging for the food industry. Its specialisation in plastic injection and thermoforming has enabled it to offer safe, sustainable solutions adapted to the needs of the market.
Achieving BRC Packaging certification with an A rating in the first audit is a reflection of the work and efforts of the entire GREENVASS team. This result demonstrates that the company not only meets, but exceeds the legal requirements, thus reinforcing its commitment to food safety.
To achieve this milestone, GREENVASS has made a number of improvements and adjustments to its processes:
1. Implementation of a robust quality management system: internal procedures have been optimised to ensure compliance with BRC standards.
2. Staff training: Staff have been trained in good manufacturing practice, food safety and quality control.
3. Investment in infrastructure and technology: Facilities have been upgraded and advanced traceability and process control systems have been implemented.
4. Top management commitment: The company is committed to a culture of continuous improvement in quality and safety.

Benefits of BRC packaging certification for GREENVASS and its customers

BRC packaging certification brings many benefits to both GREENVASS and its customers:
